Minnie’s Writer Woes; Gorgeous Geek Chapter 71: Security and Trust~

Like always, before I give you your lovely chapter, I’m going to talk about something else first. This time, I have some writer woes. I believe every writer goes through this time at least; for many like myself I go through it many times. There are a couple of woes that are bugging me to no end. The first one is: Will any of my stories be published and read one day by the rest of the human population? The second one: If so, how many of my ideas will see the light of day? I have countless ideas and a lot of stories to tell… I don’t think I’ll be able to tell them all sadly. 

Now, it’s time for my more immediate woes. I am stuck in between so many stories I want to take up after or even during Gorgeous Geek. I really love and care about my Spirits characters in that universe. I love that universe so much that I even have seven stories and a spin-off story dedicated to it.  I have this sudden urge to rewrite New Era all the time or start writing Change of Decade. Before Time and Finale also come to mind a lot too. On the other hand, I really want to write Classy and Cool and my other story idea (I am brainstorming on the title atm). I want to finish Honey Pie as well since it’s so short (40 chapters). I wish I can write all these things at once but my brain will probably explode from all the muses talking at once in my head! My Jordan and Rin muse are talkative enough…

Forget it all. I’ll either try to write both of my new stories at once and decide which one I like better to continue and leave the other one on hiatus (like what I had done with Gorgeous Geek and Honey Pie) or rewrite New Era/Spirits I/Sweet Heart with publication in mind. I know how you guys keep telling me to stop making my summaries so misleading/cliche, but I can’t help it. It’s so much fun. Check out the short, not-yet-finalized summaries below for my two future story ideas and vague profile on the two main characters:

Classy and Cool
Carmen is getting married in a year. She returns to the small hometown of her childhood to seek out her three best friends back in elementary school and invite them to her wedding. Much to her surprise, her three friends are not how she remembered them to be. And who is Butch exactly? A slice-of-life story about lost friendship and the changes between childhood to adulthood.

Carmen: the “Classy” of “Classy and Cool”; a good-natured girl who is sympathetic to outcasts and underdogs.

Butch: the “Cool” of “Classy and Cool”; an androgonyous, apathetic bully who skips school and lives on the streets.

Fool’s Paradise/Fool Proof/Fool Happy/Goof Proof (name pending)
On the surface, Bogancio is his Master’s Fool or entertainer. In return for his services, his Master pays for his full expense to the same private boarding school as his master and takes care of all other living expenses.  In actuality though, Bogancio is his shy and sheltered Master’s best friend and love advisor! (Add: A modernized version of the original story that took place in ancient China)

Bogancio: the “Fool”; a talkative and smart boy who helps Ian with his love life. 

Ian:  the “Master”;  a shy and shelter boy who is looking for a girlfriend.

Admittedly, Chapter 71 is pretty hard to write. It’s slightly longer than the usual chapter, but it feels short I think. I guess it’s because it doesn’t feel like a lot is going on even though there are plenty of scene jumps. I want to write a whole chapter without any scene jumps, but with so many characters, it is impossible as of now. Maybe the last couple of chapters where everything comes together, I’ll be able to write straight out chapters without scene jumps?

Gorgeous Geek Character Tournament Round 43 & 44; Gorgeous Geek Chapter 70: Isolation~

To GG Readers,

Thank you for all your suggestions and comments but...

I don’t know why, but a handful of my readers have asked me to write more about myself and my life on my blog. Huh. That sounds weird. Not really I guess. I suppose it’s because you guys want to know more about me as a person right? Actually, to be frank, I like to keep a distance between me and everyone I know. I am not quite honest with people, unless I know them very well. I love to sugarcoat my words and say things to make people happy. I like being the girl who everyone can get along with, but don’t know personally too well.

One of the reasons is because I’m a writer and I work alone. When I’m in a crowd, I am more interested in people’s manner of speaking and movements than what they’re saying. These observations are quite useful to a writer. I look at the world through a writer’s eyes and for those who are trying to write, you know exactly what I mean. If not, maybe writing isn’t your profession.

The real reason why it might be hard for me to talk about myself and my life in these kind of posts is because I’m not really a diary type of person and I always write these chapter posts days ahead of when I publish them. In the past, I’ve tried writing a diary or online entries at one of those websites (like Xanga?), but eventually, I become bored of them. Instead of wasting my time writing about my life to you people who care ever so much (I’m an optimistic and cynic in one!), I’d rather use them in my stories instead. Experience and imagination are what makes writing fiction so great.

For those of you who spend your time writing entries about your life for the sake of pleasing other people or letting other people know what the heck is going on with you (unless it’s mandatory by a parent for some weird reason, which I find stupid anyways), I’ll have to be mean here and say ‘You’re wasting your time!’. For those of you who spend your time writing them because it is a form of release (like stress), that’s a whole different story. You’re doing it for yourself and it helps you so keep it up! And yes, I’m a very individualistic person.

Man, I can’t believe I ranted so much. I’m the type of person who can go on and on about any subject you throw at me as long as I feel slightly passionate about it. Anyways, I should just say what I mean with a sentence: I will not write about my life on here because I find people who do for the sake of other people conceited. What happen to your sugar coating, Minnie? I’m moving past that, thanks~ For those of you who ask me though, I still want to say thanks because you guys care enough to ask <3 and I hope no one takes anything I say personally. ^^

Although if any of you need help in the writing process or anything similar to that, I might write more stuff on that because it’s way more useful than to know what I eat for lunch right? Those are the types of conversation and entries I am much more into anyways~

The tournament is slowly coming to an end with less than twenty rounds left to go. Although both Jordan and Wendy feel safe in the top sixteen, they both know that they have to up their game if they want to defeat either Jin or Jezebelle in the Double Elimination rounds. There’s not much time left for either of them to prove themselves worthy opponents. In the context of the story, Wendy and Jordan have some history together. The animosity Wendy feels toward Jordan and the guilt Jordan feels toward Wendy are both well known. After seventy chapters, what do readers make of either of them? Should the ex-girlfriend get another chance at being number one? Or would Jordan show Wendy why he’s always one step ahead of her?

Bailey/Joseph Cruz (33-9) vs Faith Santana (34-8)

For the exiled couple for being doing this well without the help of their arc, it is really something. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Faith’s arc is one of the shortest and easiest one to finish, but he remains a favorite among the minor characters. Even without enough screen time, the Bailey and Joseph Cruz sweep doesn’t seem to be letting down anytime soon. The Faith supporters are just as strong. Both sides are in the top sixteen and both sides are aiming for a sweet victory this time around. With the Double Eliminations coming up, the duo and Faith are trying their best not to slip up, especially with all the girls at spot #17 and lower snatching wins at an alarming rate. In addition, both sides are avoiding the bottom of the top 16 too for obvious reasons. Will the duo tie Faith in wins? Or will Faith move even farther ahead?

“Gorgeous Geek” and “Classy and Cool” News. Gorgeous Geek Chapter 69: Will and Willpower~

Carmen is patiently awaiting the arrival of Classy and Cool~

Hiya everyone! I am back this week with another chapter of Gorgeous Geek! Chapter 69 (Thank you so much Paul for your editting~) is out much later than I intended because somehow, I managed to get myself a life and had gone out for parties/outings/other stuff from Thursday to Sunday. Oh Halloween weekend! Anyways,  at the moment, it is still uncertain whether Gorgeous Geek will have a sequel or not, depending on where I want to end the story. I am hoping to finish the entire story by the next twenty/thirty chapters. It doesn’t look possible does it? Like I said before, after Sunday, the time within the story should move by quickly. In other words, it won’t be going day by day anymore. I can’t believe I took nearly 70 chapters to get through the first important five weeks. Oh well~ Whether or not there’ll be a sequel to Gorgeous Geek, the next story in the workings is Classy and Cool.

Classy and Cool will be taking place in a separate universe from both Gorgeous Geek and Spirits. Unlike Spirits and like Gorgeous Geek, it will be modern time setting aka with computers/television/cars. Classy and Cool will be the first time I’m working with a smaller cast too. There is around five major characters and that’s about it. I’m working with my C & C characters right now. I don’t want them to be too similar to any other characters I have so far (around 300 chars I believe?), but it’s hard. They’re all archetypes at the moment. I’ll expand them later. Besides Classy and Cool, I have another story idea in the working but neither of them have progressed much from just an idea.

Mandatory Minnie Rant: I don’t follow Naruto and I don’t intend to follow Naruto any time soon, but the latest confession chapter from Sakura to Naruto PISSED ME OFF. Yes, it totally deserved caps and everything. Wait a second. I should clarify what I mean. SAKURA PISSED ME OFF. If you’re going to confess, confess like a normal person. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT SOUND SO PITIFUL????????????????????????? My God. Can this girl do anything right? Ever? If I’m going to confess to someone, I’m not going to say like “I never loved and noticed you before. Instead, I loved this emo jerk, but it doesn’t matter anymore because I love you now. You’re a great hero and will become Hokage one day, unlike that guy I loved so much, who is now trying to kill everyone. All in all, just forget that promise we made three years ago in which you wasted all that time on and get hitched okay? OKAY!” Sakura, it is thanks to female characters like you that make me want to hit my head against the nearest wall and curse all female characters in manga/anime to death. >_> Thanks to this chapter, you have made me a Hinata/Naruto fan. I don’t care if it’s one-sided. I don’t care if Hinata is one of the most useless characters in existence. ANY OTHER GIRL WITH NARUTO IS BETTER THAN YOU >________________________> Oh, and just to make this not totally a hate rant, I applaud Naruto for what he said at the end of the chapter. Naruto, you have officially gained my respect.

On lighter news, for all those who haven’t watched Kimi ni Todoke that is currently airing, you should. Why? Because it is by far the best show of the fall season for being simple, endearing, and emotional and best of all, one of my favorite manga heroines is finally animated <3 If I hadn’t done the fav char countdown already for HSA, she would be right about here:
